Project 2: Event Website

due finals week This week, we will begin our final Project 2: Event Website. we will brainstorm and select our idea for the first part of this week. Draft out the information architecture (pages) and the content that will live on each page. We will move into sketching, prototyping, and style tiles in the second half of the week. Next week, we will move into the homepage and subpage design. Post to new Project 2 story on Medium. By next Tuesday, you will choose your topic, create a persona, organize your information architecture and start collecting content.

4. Project 2 Timeline:

  • t4.7 topic, 18 thumbs (6 mobile/6 tablet/6 desktop) + identity sketches + 2 mood boards (visual research)
  • tr4.9 1 persona + lo-fi mobile prototype for user testing in class
  • t4.14 2 style tiles 
  • tr4.16 mobile/tablet/desktop mockups using selected style tile for homepage (3 mockups total + must include logo) – critique / 15 social media thumbs + ideation
  • t4.21 homepage mockup revisions + subpage mockups – small crit

Mockups Mockups  Please prepare a PDF (AND jpeg or png) of 2-3 pages, formatted for 1920x1080px, which can be presented in either portrait or landscape orientation. These mockups will not only be displayed in the hall but can also be scaled down (later) to 6.4″x3.6″ (1920×1080 pixels) for your Flux Submissions in the Fall, ensuring a seamless transition from print to digital. Each mockup should include (reference Download: MOCKUP FILES for folios and inspiration):

    • your full name

    • Project 1: Typographic Storytelling

    • Assistant Professor: Cass Reese

    • Course: Web Design

    • Term: Spring 2026

    • To provide context, integrate a brief, descriptive sentence about your concept within the design. (Reference our last blog)

    • Screenshot all work on the server in its developed form before creating mockups. As an alternative to taking a screenshot of your live website, you may want to install a screen capture plugin on your browser.

Create an outline of the content and how you will arrive at that page. Your site must have a minimum of 2 pages (including your home page) / OR 5 sections. Create digitally or physically and take photos. Post to P2 Medium story.
